An Invitation into the Presence of God

We are so glad that you have come to look into applying for The Intimacy Project. The cohorts are limited to 8 people. Here are our upcoming dates.

Our upcoming IP cohort will be facilitated by Judy and Nicole and will use a hybrid model, meeting in person at a retreat center called The Shelter in Ephrata, PA, for the first and last retreats and meeting online for retreats two, three, and four. Overnight lodging at no extra cost is available for the in-person retreats in Ephrata.

Requirements for The Intimacy Project (IP):

1. Interested persons will complete an application and an interview.

2. Within two weeks of confirmed acceptance to an IP cohort, participants will pay a $200 non-refundable deposit to secure their space in the program.

3. Participants are expected to attend all retreats and engage with the practices, readings, weekly journaling assignments, and monthly reflection papers on what they are experiencing. All of these pieces are important for each individual in his or her spiritual journey, as well as the health of the community.

4. After the second retreat, participants are strongly encouraged to meet with a spiritual director. Guidelines and help in finding a director will be made available.

5. For in-person cohorts, participants will need to make their own travel and lodging arrangements. These expenses are not part of the tuition paid to the IP. A list of nearby hotels and B&Bs will be provided.

6. The cost for IP is $2000. Please don’t let that number scare you off immediately! We desire for IP to be financially accessible to everyone, and we have some partial scholarships available for those who really need them. We can also work with payment plans if they are needed. In addition to 10 full days of retreat (five weekends), the $2000 includes weekly spiritual direction via email (personal communication and feedback from the facilitators regarding your individual spiritual journey and growth), commonly rated as one of the most valuable and meaningful parts of the IP.

Upon receipt of your application, you will be contacted to schedule a time to meet with the course facilitators via Zoom. This meeting is a time to learn to know each other a bit and to engage in mutual discernment about whether the IP is a good fit for you at this time.
